Magnus graduated from Helsinki University, majoring in philosophy. He has also studied history, political science, cello and conducting. In addition to leading StillArt since 1992 he has held positions as Producer at Helsinki Festival (98-99), General Manager of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (00-01) and Head of Planning at the Helsingborg Concert House (02).
